Wendi Okabayashi is the heart behind "A Heart for Paws Dog Training". At an early age, she taught her dogs to hold still while she dressed them, deliver mail to each family member, balance on their back paws, dance, sing, retrieve items and much more. At that time, she never imagined a foundation was being built which lead her to a successful, career, specializing in dog training and dog behavior. Wendi studied across the nation under the top dog trainers and animal behaviorists in her field. Her success is largely credited to her extensive knowledge of dogs and 16 years of teaching. Over the past 10 years, Wendi has trained hundreds of pets and their owners. She has an amazing connection to dogs and people and a special way of communicating to both. After a thorough evaluation of you and your dog(s), Wendi sets up a customized training program which guarantees success!
Wendi has an incredible passion for helping people and volunteers her time to an organization called Paw Pals Assistance Dogs www.paw-pals.org. She sits on the board as the California Regional Director and is one of the Advanced Trainers. She enjoys training service dogs to enhance the lives of others and to give them independence. Wendi is actively involved with Delta Society and their Therapy Dog program. She and her therapy dogs, Summer and Benjamin enjoy visiting local convelescent homes and a group home for children. Wendi says "There is a great joy in my heart when I know I can do something to make a difference in the life of others". Wendi would like to thank all of her clients, local Veterinarians, and local dog business owners who continually send her referrals. Her company continues to thrive solely by word of mouth.
